Nazier was 16 when his brother was shot and killed.  Without his hero and protector, he was scared and began carrying a gun which ultimately led to him going to prison.  Once back at home, Nazier found SNUG, Family Services’ street outreach program which sees gun violence as a disease – identifying its causes and preventing its transmission.   Today, Nazier has the support of our SNUG outreach workers and he says he isn’t alone anymore, that he can go to people for help if he needs to.   In between high school classes and playing basketball, he sometimes canvasses the neighborhood with the SNUG team to help others.

According to Nazier, “My life is better. I am doing something with my life.”
