“You can’t really understand another person’s experience until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes.”

A little rain could not stop Walk a Mile 2018! On Saturday, October 13th, it was a beautiful sight to see hundreds of people in our community walk together to eliminate rape, sexual assault, domestic violence and gender violence and show support for those who have been impacted.

We were inspired by the words of our speakers, Antonette and Jackie, who shared their stories of survival and hope. We were encouraged at the sight of the many children who walked alongside their parents and caregivers to demonstrate they will not contribute to a culture that perpetuates violence.

I am delighted to share that thanks to you, we have raised over $66,000 to support the lifesaving work of Family Services. Thank you to the many teams, walkers, donors and businesses who made Walk a Mile 2018 a success. We are so grateful to you for being part of such a special day!
