The Sexual Violence Prevention programming at Family Services provides interpersonal primary prevention programming through several mediums including the Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) Program, public service announcements, social norming campaigns, and collaboration with service providers in 3 counties including Dutchess, Orange, and Westchester. In Dutchess County, Family Services provides MVP programming to college students. Family Services also coordinates the regional Sexual Violence Prevention project through NYS by coordinating the collaborative prevention programming between Westchester, Orange, and Dutchess Counties. This partnership has expanded sexual violence prevention programming to reach students in schools, colleges, and community organizations across the 3 counties. Family Services has also implemented public service announcements which illustrate the effectiveness of bystander intervention in preventing sexual violence and a regional social norming campaign using photography and storytelling which allows participating youth and community members to tell their stories in a way that is meaningful to them.
