Family Services Elementary After School Programs 2014-2015 Enrollment / Sign up today!

Poughkeepsie, NY (August 11th 2014) – The Family Services After School Program is currently enrolling students for the 2014-2015 school year.Family Services Inc. offers quality, licensed, in school after school programs at Clinton and Krieger Elementary, to all elementary and 6th grade students in the district with caring, trained staff, special enhancement programs, and tie-in to district polices and learning goals.

Activities include:

For our student participants: Homework assistance, healthy snacks, recreation (including sports clinics and physical fitness). Creative arts and performing arts activities (including drama, music and dance), technology (including computers and web design), science exploration, cooking and nutrition activities, youth leadership activities, service-learning projects and team building initiatives.

For parents and families: Family nights, parent council, parent workshops and referrals to local services as needed.

Part of the community since 1879, Family Services has been making a difference in people’s lives for over 130 years. Family Services provides programs and services in the Hudson Valley designed to “provide hope, improve lives and strengthen communities.” Our various programs include: Youth Services, Comprehensive Crime Victim Services & Forensics, Domestic Violence Services, Substance Abuse Prevention and Family Education.

A key asset to Family Services is the Family Partnership Center, a 100,000 + square foot center in Poughkeepsie where currently 19 not-for-profit and related organizations are brought together in partnership for the purpose of collaboration toward a unified approach to human services and building community. The mission of Family Services is to help families and individuals help themselves through direct services, collaboration, and advocacy. Last year nearly 6,500 children, adults, and families benefited from Family Services programs. Family Services operates programs in Dutchess and Ulster counties, Hudson Valley Mental Health, an affiliate of Family Services provides mental health services throughout Dutchess and Ulster Counties.
