Christopher Pels named to key management post

Christopher 000POUGHKEEPSIE – Christopher Pels, formerly an executive with a Rochester businessservices firm, has been named Director of Human Resources and Risk Managementat Family Services, Inc., Chief Executive officer Brian Doyle announced.

Pels, who holds a doctorate degree in executive leadership from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, served as the first full-time human resources director at Dawnbreaker, Inc., where he oversaw all hiring practices and oversaw compliance with federal contracting requirements for the 60-employee firm. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology and a master’s degree in psychology fromMedaille College in Buffalo. He wrote his master’s thesis on domestic violence issues as seen through the eyes of prosecutors.

Doyle said he was pleased to have someone with Pels’ professional credentials join Family Services’ top management team.

“While he will be primarily responsible for Human Resources and Risk Management, I am certain he will play an important role in the thought leadership of our thriving agency,” he said.
